The AGRIDOME™ is a cone-shaped device which is placed around the base of young trees to create a miniature greenhouse environment that not only reduces the water requirements of each tree (some growers have reported up to 70% water savings), but also the energy (pump times), fertilizer and pesticide requirements. Additionally, it is great for frost protection, weed prevention and critter control. This multipurpose, low-tech solution assists growers to save costs and increase the productivity of their fields.

Water savings

Reduces water usage by up to 70% - The AGRIDOME™ creates a miniature greenhouse which minimizes water dispersion and evaporation. Water is contained within the diameter of each unit and is directed straight towards the roots, promoting deep root growth and stronger trees.  

 

Frost protection

One of the greatest risks to any grower! The AGRIDOME™ protects the area around the young tree and maintains an internal temperature which is similar to the temperature of the well water. This means that in very hot conditions, your AGRIDOME™ keeps the temperature inside the AGRIDOME™ cooler than the outside, while in cold conditions, the temperature inside the AGRIDOME™ will be warmer than outside. To further control the temperature at the base, choose a black or a white AGRIDOME™.

Reduces pump times

By decreasing the amount of water required per tree, a grower can save fuel costs, electricity costs, and
maintenance costs.

Reduces fertiliser and pesticide costs

By decreasing the amount of water dispersion, a grower can reduce the fertiliser and pesticide costs per tree. Additionally, fertiliser is not wasted on weeds and grass.

As weeds and grass prefer direct sunlight, the AGRIDOME™ significantly reduces the growth of weeds and grass which otherwise tend to grow around the base of young trees.

warthogs and buck.

Installation

1. The AGRIDOME™ has an opening slit on one side. This allows it to be easily wrapped around the base  of young trees. Once the unit is wrapped around the tree, secure the opening slit either with clips or cable ties.

2. Two holes on either side of the unit allows the user to run the existing irrigation line through the unit leaving the microjet or dripper contained inside.  

3. Cover the base of the unit with a fair amount of soil to keep it secure and in place.
